The Hershey electric train is considered Cuba's most reliable, a very low bar. This is the newest equipment, built by General Electric in 1947. When the workers were unable to repair the tracks, passengers from this train and the one coming from the other direction simply walked around the broken tracks and got on the other train which then backed up to where they started.
